Show was great but the venue was terrible
I was so excited to take my elderly mother to see this show since it was a dream all her life to see the it. I bought tickets in the first balcony thinking it would be a great view for her. I had no idea there wasn’t an elevator to the seats. She has trouble walking and we had to manage five or so flights of stairs. No one offered us assistance or to change seats. Once seated, we were unable to see most of the show. Seats were not stacked for viewing. Not exaggerating, 2/3 of the stage was taken up by the heads in front of us. There were even people allowed to come in nearing 40 minutes into show that stood and discussed where their seats were in the rows! So we had a no view of the show a good amount of the time. It was very disappointing for those reasons. Love the arts and hoped to show my mom a once in a lifetime experience, but ended up repeatedly apologizing for her discomfort. College student crawling over her sore knees to get in and out, slurping big drinks loudly. Very rude and unaware of other people. Since my mom was not only limited in her physical ability but also her cognitive abilities, I knew it was this year or never. Wish we had a better time but the musicians and dancers were phenomenal.
